I asked my husband who is related to Margaret Hamilton the wicked witch and he said they had to change what ever they were using to Potatoe flakes because what they were using was causing everyone to get sick

Reply:Seeing as "special effects" were based on imagination back then (the good old days), the most popular use was potato flakes, so that's more than likely what they used.
