What kind of flower is this??????

The picture was taken in California in a pretty remote area, up high in the mountains. I dont know what kind this would be, also it snows up their too and I saw some growing in bunches.

the post above mine wouldn't pull the picture of the snow plant thru. I found one for you to look at if it doesn't work for you either. I'm pretty sure that's right.

I live in the Sierra mountains and it really looks like an Indian Warrior -- they are indigenous to mountain climatic zones. Also called Pedicularis densiflora. 5 hours later--after I got home from work, I checked my references and this could also be a snow plant which grows at 4,000 to 8,000 ft and blooms between May and July see: http://www.calflora.net/bloomingplants/s... I'm almost certain it's a snow plant.
Reply:Maybe you can get a web to the U.S. Forest Service in that county and send them that snapshot, bet they could tell you !
