Getting married in Texas next spring and I want bluebonnets in my bouquet...every heard of this?

My fiance and I are having a Texas spring wedding, and I want to include my favorite flower (bluebonnets) in my bouquet. I am saving money by having only the bouquets contain real flowers, the rest will be fake. Have you ever heard of anyone having bluebonnets in their wedding?

Also, I would like to have a pink dress, but our colors are blue and silver....should I simply change to a light blue dress? (White is not becoming on a big girl, in my opinion, I'd like to be radiant on my wedding day, not look like a snow-beast.) I'm in beginning stages of planning, so any advice is appreciated!

You can get a light blue dress, I think once you go shopping you'll find wedding gowns come in just about any color you'd like, when you go shopping, tell the saleswomen that you'd like to avoid white or ivory. I've also seen silver gowns, that are absolutely stunning!

Also, make sure you're really saving money, by the time you get silk flowers, it may be just as expensive as fresh. Compare the prices on both, and ask your florist about inexpensive options on flowers as well.

I think having the bluebonnets in a TX wedding is absolutely appropriate! I love them as well, and I live up in KS!!

Good luck, and happy wedding planning!
Reply:Being a Native Texan, I thought about bluebonnets in my bouquet as well. However, I'm getting married in October and my color is red... but otherwise I would have done it! I think it would be gorgeous. I think the light blue dress would look better against the blue of the bluebonnets and the silver. Good luck and have fun!
Reply:If you like bluebonnets then use them...I would not mix them with fake flowers. Just get in touch with some florist and let them know you want bluebonnets...suggest a wildflower bouquet. Wildflowers are fairly inexpensive. You can find fake bluebonnets if you want.

And you can wear any dress you want...you are the bride. Although, if you want to wear pink, why did you choose blue and silver as your "colors". Why not just do pink and silver? Just a thought.
Reply:Go for it as far as bluebonnets go, you can pick them off the side of the highway. Or tell your florist since, at least where I am in Texas, we only get the bluebonnets for about a 2 week window every year before the heat and lack of rain kills them.

As far as your wedding gown goes, go with whatever you feel comfortable in and looks great!
