Do you like it? It's a little depressing, I know.?

Whispered voices that come and go,

Rain and ice that mix with snow.

Glowing from the light within,

The warmth is felt beyond the wind.

Mounds that build as the day grows dark,

Rest by the grass and the laid tree bark.

The sleeping birds fly South with slow, chilled wings,

As the flowers wait the coming spring.

The lonely leaves, still holding strong,

Give up their fight as the storm comes on.

The clouds cry tears with a frozen grudge,

And cover the sinners who don’t listen much.

A miniscule warning that knocks once a year,

And always prepared as the winter comes near.

So as the cold falls by the window and lay,

About the world for the morning’s play,

Only some know of the pity that’s brought,

Aftermath of the battle that’s fought.

War continues to fly like the terrorized breeze,

And blinds all eyes like the green that freeze.

Though the winter’s snow seems innocent to rain,

It’s an evil decree to rebelling pain.

Do you like it? It's a little depressing, I know.?
Very nice poem, not depressing at all, it just speaks of the changing seasons, until it gets to the part about war, then it gets depressing, but then again, war is a fact of life, not a pleasant fact, but a fact we have lived with since time eternal. Thanks for sharing.
Reply:wow! You are a grea poet!
Reply:Sounds like winter in lots of lines - but those birds - could they be sleepy instead of sleeping birds??? To be sleeping and flying at the same time is a bit - um - contradictory. And what is the green that freeze? I don't understand that line.

I'd have liked those lines better reading

"war continues to fly like terrorized breezes

and blinds all eyes like the green (or other word) that freezes"

Just a few thoughts. You have a talent for painting pictures with words
