Would anyone like to sing this beautiful Irish song, my sister's favourite I hope she is singing it in heaven?

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling

From glen to glen, and down the mountain side

The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying

'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow

Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow

'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow

Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying

And I am dead, as dead I well may be

You'll come and find the place where I am lying

And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me

And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be

If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me

I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

Suzie, During the Vietnam War, I was with some friends at an air force base in Michigan and a young man sang this song so beautifully, grown men cried. We all cried because the song is so touching, it was so well sung and we all knew that some of those there that night would not survive the war. Those of us who would remain behind when the men were deployed knew too well what was meant by, "'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide." The song is a heart breaker.
Reply:That tugs at the heart strings Suzie and yes she is singing it Heaven.
Reply:I do not know when your sister went to heaven, but mine left this earth on March 11. I was her part=time care giver and had been with her 2 weeks prior to and was holding her hand and arm when she went. What a beautiful choir in heaven singing O Danny Boy tonight. My heart goes out to you.

Reply:I love Danny Boy, and sing it often in the shower. But now

that I see all of the lyrics, I see I have been singing most of

it wrong all along. So it's nice to see the correct version and I'll

try to memorize them for a future rendition, while singing in the

midst of suds while shampooing my hair.
